“木頭姐”仍堅信特斯拉
ARK Invest首席執行官、“木頭姐”伍德曾在2017年表示，10萬億美元的全球出行市場將被電動汽車和自動駕駛出租車網絡顛覆。她當時表示，特斯拉(TSLA.US)在電動汽車領域“處於領先地位”，而且瞄準了自動駕駛出租車。
這一觀點讓伍德和她的基金家喻戶曉。從內燃機到電池的轉變對汽車行業產生了巨大的顛覆性影響，特斯拉確實成爲全球電動汽車的領導者。
另一方面，建立自動駕駛出租車網絡比馬斯克和其他人預期的要困難得多。Alphabet(GOOG.US，GOOGL.US)分拆出來的Waymo和通用汽車(GM.US)旗下的Cruise已經在選定的城市建立了小型無人駕駛車隊，但馬斯克多年前承諾的數十輛自動駕駛出租車仍未實現。
伍德並不氣餒。智通財經APP獲悉，在週三的一場網絡研討會上，她預測電動汽車銷量將在五年內達到6000萬輛，爲業界普遍預期的三倍。她認爲特斯拉的自動駕駛計劃比電動汽車戰略重要得多。ARK Invest對特斯拉未來五年設定了1500美元的目標價，該股目前的交易價格約爲200美元，1500美元的目標價中包含了自動駕駛的成功。
伍德重複了她六年前說過的話，即“從思想領導力的角度來看，特斯拉可以說正在引領這場朝着自動駕駛電動汽車發展的運動”。
雖然馬斯克確實在自動駕駛方面做了很多思考，但特斯拉在這一領域並不領先。特斯拉的汽車一直需要人類駕駛員操作，包括其多年來一直在銷售的全自動駕駛測試版(FSD Beta)的產品。一週前，特斯拉宣佈召回帶有此功能的汽車時承認了這一點。
在特斯拉宣佈召回幾天後，美國國家公路交通安全管理局(NHTSA)要求特斯拉就其一輛汽車在加州發生的致命撞車事故提供更多信息。此機構對這一事件感興趣的原因很明顯，特斯拉與康特拉科斯塔縣的一輛消防車相撞，這與一項爲期18個月的調查相符，即關於特斯拉自動駕駛系統在處理應急車輛碰撞現場時是否存在缺陷。目前尚不清楚事故中的司機是否使用了自動駕駛。
特斯拉被用於馬斯克的另一家企業The Boring Company運營的出租車服務。不過，雖然其使用的拉斯維加斯環路(Vegas Loop)是一個封閉的道路，似乎很適合無人駕駛出租車，但人類司機仍坐在方向盤後面。
特斯拉在電動汽車領域的領導地位讓其股價飆升，並讓伍德和她的基金成爲新冠疫情時期美股繁榮的代表，這一點很難反駁。然而，爲了證明伍德另一半的觀點是正確的，她需要特斯拉克服消費者和監管機構越來越多的質疑，他們指責特斯拉過度誇大自駕技術。
如果這些懷疑論者被證明是正確的，伍德的忠實追隨者將損失慘重，特斯拉是她的ARK創新ETF和ARK自動化和機器人EFT的最大持股。
