uSMART盈立智投 01-15 14:49

As the Spring Festival holiday approaches, investors face a dilemma between holding stocks and holding cash. However, overseas markets remain open, and it's essential to keep an eye on information that is closely related to personal investments. Statistics show that the average probability of the Hong Kong stock market rising during the New Year period is as high as 80%, while the probability for U.S. stocks and Chinese concept stocks is around 70%.

Trading Arrangements for Major Markets During the Spring Festival:

A-Share Market: Closed from January 28 (Tuesday) to February 4 (Tuesday), reopening on February 5 (Wednesday).

Hong Kong Stock Market: Closed from January 28 (Tuesday) afternoon to February 2 (Sunday), reopening on February 3 (Monday).

U.S. Stock Market: Normal trading.

What Investors Should Focus on During the Spring Festival

1、Domestic Platforms' "Gift War"

As the Spring Festival approaches, major platforms have launched "gift-giving" features. Following Tencent's WeChat shop, Douyin and Taobao have also introduced similar functionalities. This innovation in social e-commerce may accelerate merchant onboarding and the cultivation of user consumption habits. Tianfeng Securities believes this could mark a turning point for WeChat e-commerce.

2、Important Developments in Overseas Markets

During the Spring Festival, the earnings season in overseas markets is approaching, particularly for tech giant Tesla, which will release its earnings on January 29. HSBC predicts that due to weak delivery and production numbers in the fourth quarter, Tesla's earnings will decline quarter-over-quarter, but the release of FSD (Full Self-Driving) may still bring positive surprises. Investors should pay attention to Tesla's guidance for 2025, especially whether it will reaffirm its annual growth target of 20%-30%.

3、Federal Reserve's Rate Meeting

At 3 AM on January 30, the Federal Reserve will hold its first monetary policy meeting of 2025, with the market widely expecting that there will be no interest rate cut, and the probability of a 25 basis point cut is only 4.8%. Recent U.S. economic data has shown resilience, with December's non-manufacturing PMI and job vacancy numbers exceeding market expectations.

4、Potential Impact of Trump's Policies

Trump's presidency may bring uncertainty to the market, particularly as his tariff policies could lead to a rise in U.S. inflation, which may increase the likelihood of rate hikes by the Federal Reserve, potentially impacting the market significantly.
