美光(MU.US)與工會達成150億美元建廠協議
美國記憶芯片巨擘美光科技(MU.US)與工會達成協議,將會興建總值150億美元的晶片製造設施,未來廿年將在紐約州投資高達1,000億美元。
美光今次與工會達成協議是希望取得美國在1,000億美元晶片法案中的補貼,美國商務部計劃在年底前宣布首批補貼,並強烈呼籲企業應與工會達成類似的協議。
美光全球營運執行副總裁Manish Bhatia表示,新晶片製造設施預計將在高峰期間聘用約3,700名建築工人,並全部經工會招聘;預計廠房將於2026年投入生產,而到2020年代末將可創造多達2,000個永久職位。
