第一共和銀行前CEO:監管當局事前未曾對該行提警告
已倒閉第一共和銀行(FRCB.US)前行政總裁Michael Roffler將在美國參議院銀行委員會作證。他在供詞上指,銀行倒閉是因為其他地區銀行倒閉引發的傳染效應,並指在該行倒閉前,監管機構並未對其策略、流動性及管理層表現表達關注。
他披露美國銀行業危機以來,該行在數周內流失逾1,000億美元存款,又指該行無法預期矽谷銀行及Signature Bank會倒閉,或該等銀行倒閉會引發第一共和銀行存款被顯著提走。
Roffler亦指,該行的財務狀況及策略,受加州金融保護及創新部與美國聯邦存款保險公司定期檢視。
加州銀行監管當局本月1日關閉第一共和銀行,並將其售予摩根大通(JPM.US),為金融海嘯以來最大宗銀行倒閉案。
