摩根大通CEO戴蒙：應該禁止賣空銀行股！
戴蒙稱，SEC應該追究惡意做空者的責任，並且嚴懲不貸，用法律允許的最嚴厲的措施懲罰他們。
美國銀行業危機重燃之際，摩根大通首席執行官傑米•戴蒙高喊，監管機構應禁止賣空銀行股。
當地時間週四，戴蒙接受彭博社採訪時表示，美國證券交易委員會（SEC）有能力調查做空者之間的合謀行爲，這些做空者可能受利益引誘而傳播虛假信息。
當被問及監管機構是否應該關注銀行股的做空者時，戴蒙給予了肯定的回答：
是的。聽着，我的家人會告訴我這不是問題所在......但我認爲他們可能部分錯了。
有些人肆無忌憚，他們使用其他方式做空。如果你看看細節，會發現SEC有執法能力，可以憑名字查看投資者在期權、衍生品、賣空方面所做的事情，以及是否有人做錯了什麼 ，（如果）有人串通一氣，或者做空然後發表不利於銀行的推文，SEC應該追究這些人的責任，並且嚴懲不貸，用法律允許的最嚴厲的措施懲罰他們。
在“人人都有麥克風”的網絡時代，信息特別是謠言的傳播速度之快，讓所有上市公司如坐鍼氈。
週三西太平洋合衆銀行表示，上週的一篇報道稱，它正考慮出售給一家規模更大的銀行，導致其存款基礎減少10%。該股週四跌幅超過20%。
無獨有偶，英國《金融時報》上週的一篇報道稱，阿萊恩斯西部銀行正考慮向一家規模更大的銀行進行戰略出售。這份報告導致阿萊恩斯西部銀行的股價暴跌了60% 。
英國《金融時報》報道發表後不到一個小時，阿萊恩斯西部銀行就否認了這份報告，並在一份聲明中表示，做空者是罪魁禍首。
阿萊恩斯西部銀行在聲明中寫道：
《金融時報》甘願充當做空者的工具，並被用作傳播一家財務穩健且盈利的銀行的虛假信息，這種行爲是可恥且不負責任的。
據華爾街見聞此前文章，美國聯邦檢察官正在調查圍繞美國銀行股近期波動的做空活動。知情人士說，這些做空的投資者圍繞銀行業危機開展的活動是司法部的“關注領域”，司法部正在尋找是否存在潛在的證券市場操縱行爲。
