深夜風暴!又直接腰斬,要賣近7000億資產救命?市值沒了90%!
當地時間4月25日,美國$第一共和銀行(FRC.US)$跌近50%,報8.12美元,市值15.12億美元。3月8日硅谷銀行倒閉前,該股收盤價爲115美元,此後三個交易日分別暴跌16.5%、14.8%和61.8%,時至今日,市值已縮水超九成。
據知情人士透露,作爲大規模救助方案的組成部分,第一共和銀行(First Republic Bank)正考慮剝離500億至1000億美元(超6900億人民幣)的長期證券和抵押貸款。
不願公開身份的知情人士稱,出售將有助於降低該行的資產負債錯配。一位知情人士說,第一共和可能向包括美國大型銀行在內的潛在買家提供認股權證或優先股,以鼓勵它們以高於市值的價格收購其資產。
知情人士稱,第一共和正盡力擴充其資產負債表以免被聯邦存款保險公司接管,併爲潛在的增資掃清道路。這位人士還說,該行在實現轉型的過程中可能需要美國政府促成它與一些大行的談判以穩定局面。如此操作要比倒閉的代價小得多。
第一共和銀行發言人不予置評。
根據第一季度財報,截至3月31日,第一共和銀行擁有資產總計2330億美元,其中貸款爲1730億美元,投資證券總計350億美元。
利率上升時,資產負債錯配情況可能發生,進而迫使銀行將存款利率提到比貸款利率更高水平。第一共和銀行的問題更爲嚴重,因爲其許多資產是單戶型住宅抵押貸款,而且設定的利率處於歷史地位。拋售這些貸款將有助於該行緩解資產負債錯配情況。
但問題在於這些利率處於低位的貸款目前價值不高,所以第一共和銀行在出售的時候無法避免賬面虧損,除非該行能刺激買家以接近面值的價格買入。而買家可能要求認股權證等優惠條件才肯這麼做。
存款流失千億美元
在硅谷銀行和簽名銀行接連倒閉之後,外界擔憂第一共和銀行成爲下一枚撼動區域銀行的“多米諾骨牌”,該行遭遇恐慌性擠兌。
季末,該行存款餘額爲1044.7億美元,較去年末的1764.4億美元環比銳減約720億美元,降幅接近41%,此前,華爾街預期存款餘額爲1450億美元,如若剔除摩根大通等大型銀行提供的300億美元救助,第一共和銀行一季度實際流失存款逾千億美元,達1020億美元,不足去年末存量的一半。
