美國化工企業陶氏(DOW.US)公布去年第四季業績,季度純利6.13億美元,按年跌65%。每股季度攤薄純利85美仙,經調整後為每股46美仙。季度淨銷售118.59億美元,按年跌17%。每股盈利及銷售表現均遜市場預期。公司預計今年首季收入介乎110億至115億美元,亦差於市場預期的130.2億美元。公司料今年資本開支達22億美元,按年升21%。
公司計劃今年節省10億美元,並退出多項資產及進一步檢討全球資產基礎,尤其在歐洲方面。公司亦宣布裁員2,000人,佔整體員工總數5%,公司將於今年首季錄得5.5億至7.25億美元相關成本。
公司行政總裁James Fitterling表示,裁員並非全部針對歐洲,縱使歐洲佔盈利下跌的大部分,並推動公司採取有關行動。公司財務總監Howard Ungerleider表示,通脹升幅已緩和,但整體成本仍然高企。
