大新:本港3月零售銷售符預期 5月起或回復正增長
本港3月零售銷售額按年跌13.8%。大新銀行高級經濟師溫嘉煒回應稱,零售銷售跌幅與該行預期的13.1%相若,明顯受到3月疫情高峰期所影響,同時整體銷售貨量均有下跌。珠寶手飾等奢侈品及衣履服裝的零售額大幅減少約四成,相反新鮮蔬果及超級市場銷售額逆市升近15%和3%,反映疫情期間食品及日常用品價格上升。網上銷售貨值按年升30.9%,顯示疫情高峰市民傾向網購避免外出消費。
該行相信,隨著疫情緩和加上社交距離措施逐步放寬,4月零售跌幅可望大幅收窄,5月起有機會回復正增長,並恢復至去年下半年平均約280至300億元的水平,而全年則可望至少保持個位數增長。至於整體零售業未來能否進一步改善,則視乎本地就業市場回穩情況及跨境旅遊何時能夠復甦。
