裏士滿聯儲總裁稱若勞動參與率升逾59% 方考慮支持縮減量寬
《華爾街日報》報道,美國裏士滿聯儲總裁巴爾金(Thomas Barkin)表示,基於目前勞工市場狀況,他未預備要求美聯儲結束每月1,200億美元買債計劃。他指若勞工市場相對快地恢復,縮減買債或會更早到來,否則便會較晚才進行。
巴爾金希望勞工市場將在相對短期內達到觸發點,讓美聯儲縮減買債。他亦表示,勞動參與率爲重要指標以決定美聯儲何時可縮減量寬。該比率於去年2月爲61.1%,新冠疫情後下跌,並於去年4月跌至51.3%低位,其後回升至上月的58%。他希望見到勞動參與率升至59%以上,使其相信當時爲合適時候開始縮減買債。
