英特爾擬斥200億美元於歐洲設晶片廠
據英國《金融時報》報道,美國晶片製造商英特爾(INTC.US)的200億美元歐洲半導體工廠建造計劃可能會分散在多個歐盟成員國,並提出了在多個成員國之間分散設施和服務以支持晶片生產的可能性。目前正在遊說歐盟,爭取爲該項目提供財政和政治支持。
除了尋求財政支援,英特爾也正物色一個佔地約1,000英畝、擁有完善基礎設施的場地,以支援多達8個晶片製造設施。目前考察了德國、荷蘭、法國和比利時等國,預計年底會有最終定案。
英特爾全球監管事務副總裁Greg Slater表示,最初將建立兩座工廠,10年運營的總成本約爲200億美元。在工廠的整個生命週期中,總投資可能達到1,000億美元。
他解釋,英特爾可在一個地點進行生產,然後於另一個地點包裝,相關的研究和開發也可在歐盟成員國之間共用,對歐洲供應商的支出將顯着增加,以實現全生態系統項目,而不單止只是在個別成員國建造一兩個獨立設施。
