美光科技總裁指晶片庫存低企 料短缺情況延續至明年
美國記憶晶片商美光科技(MU.US)行政總裁Sanjay Mehrotra接受《CNBC》訪問時表示,新冠疫情加速數碼化轉型,同時導致全球經濟出現晶片短缺問題。他又指5G科技,尤其爲智能手機、人工智能、智能終端及智能設備均爲公司業務增長來源,因所有相關產品均要求更多數據記憶體及儲存。他亦表示,公司庫存非常少,預期晶片短缺問題持續至年底以至明年,即使短缺情況緩解,亦會有積累需求出現。
Mehrotra亦表示,晶片市場從未如此多元,汽車需要多記憶及儲存資料,未來更成立流動數據中心。此外,智能手機、遊戲、工業應用均貢獻晶片需求增長。
公司早前公佈季績,季度收入按年升36%至74.2億美元,高於市場預期的72.4億美元,每股經調整純利1.88美元,高於市場預期的1.72美元。公司料現財季收入介乎80億至84億美元,高於市場預期的78.7億美元。
