5月份，規模以上工業增加值同比實際增長8.8%（以下增加值增速均爲扣除價格因素的實際增長率），比2019年同期增長13.6%，兩年平均增長6.6%。從環比看，5月份，規模以上工業增加值比上月增長0.52%。1—5月份，規模以上工業增加值同比增長17.8%，兩年平均增長7.0%。
分三大門類看，5月份，採礦業增加值同比增長3.2%；製造業增長9.0%；電力、熱力、燃氣及水生產和供應業增長11.0%。
分經濟類型看，5月份，國有控股企業增加值同比增長7.7%；股份制企業增長8.9%，外商及港澳臺商投資企業增長8.5%；私營企業增長9.1%。
分行業看，5月份，41個大類行業中有36個行業增加值保持同比增長。農副食品加工業增長7.3%，紡織業下降3.0%，化學原料和化學制品製造業增長8.6%，非金屬礦物製品業增長7.6%，黑色金屬冶煉和壓延加工業增長7.7%，有色金屬冶煉和壓延加工業增長2.9%，通用設備製造業增長13.8%，專用設備製造業增長5.9%，汽車製造業增長0.5%，鐵路、船舶、航空航天和其他運輸設備製造業增長7.5%，電氣機械和器材製造業增長18.7%，計算機、通信和其他電子設備製造業增長12.7%，電力、熱力生產和供應業增長10.4%。
分產品看，5月份，612種產品中有428種產品產量同比增長。鋼材12469萬噸，同比增長7.9%；水泥24307萬噸，下降3.2%；十種有色金屬545萬噸，增長10.3%；乙烯228萬噸，增長23.7%；汽車209.6萬輛，下降4.0%，其中，新能源汽車23.7萬輛，增長166.3%；發電量6478億千瓦時，增長7.9%；原油加工量6050萬噸，增長4.4%。
5月份，工業企業產品銷售率爲97.4%，同比下降0.4個百分點；工業企業實現出口交貨值11326億元，同比名義增長16.9%。
