Facebook首次在印度购买可再生能源
Facebook(FB.US)与印度CleanMax签署协议,将於当地的风力发电项目购买电力。
该项目是Facebook与CleanMax的风能及太阳能项目计划一部分,CleanMax将拥有并营运这些项目,而Facebook将使用环境属性证书(Environmental Attribute Certificate)或碳信用额度从电网购买电力。
Facebook可再生能源负责人Urvi Parekh表示,Facebook通常不会持有电厂,而是与可再生能源公司签署长期购电协议,而这些公司亦能为项目找到所需的资金。
她续指,公司已经在新加坡建立类似的合作夥伴关系,预计将可为首个亚洲数据中心供电,该中心将於明年开始运营。
