摩通指美民众帐户现金较疫前增加2万亿美元 已预备用作消费
《CNBC》报道,摩通(JPM.US)行政总裁戴蒙在业绩电话会议上表示,美国政府在新冠疫情下推动的刺激经济方案,为消费者带来大量储蓄,并支持经济复苏。
该行指出,摩通首季度业绩因贷款需求受压,信用卡持卡人及跨国企业均削减债务,总贷款额按年减少4%至1万亿美元,存款则按年升24%至2.28万亿美元。戴蒙认为,消费者拥有大量金钱及减少信用卡欠款是一件好事,又指消费者往来帐户现金较新冠前增加2万亿美元,消费者已预备好再花钱。
摩通财务总监Jennifer Piepszak指,不少美国人收到三轮刺激经济方案所发的支票,且失业保障亦在疫情下加强,有助防止债务违约潮。她指民众把所得款项的三成储蓄起来,近期把更多款项用作还债。她亦表示,消费者的记帐卡及信用卡消费已回复至疫前水平,疫苗接种将推动旅游及娱乐消费,协助下半年的信贷需求复苏。
