耶伦指不确定贝莱德应否按「大至不能倒」模式作更严格监管
美国麻省参议员沃伦(Elizabeth Warren)於参议院银行委员会上,要求美国财长耶伦把全球最大资产管理公司贝莱德(BlackRock)(BLK.US)视作「大至不能倒」金融机构,并予以更严格监管。耶伦回应指,有关监管方式用於贝莱德等资产管理公司并不明显,未来会在金融稳定监管委员会检视有关问题。
耶伦表示,判断哪些金融机构在倒闭时对金融稳定产生显着风险很重,亦明白当股市上升,会令人容易忽略金融系统内已建立的风险。她指金融海啸前监管机构忽略有关问题,导致美国纳税人支付7,000亿美元拯救银行。她认为在炒作派对强烈时,监管者有责任拿走派对上的酒碗。
另外,耶伦认为银行已改善资本状况,应获允许继续回购股份。她指金融机构目前看来更健康,应可自主地按规定为股东提供回报。
