本港1月零售銷售按年跌13.6% 跌幅較預期大 連跌24個月
政府統計處公布,今年1月的零售業總銷貨價值的臨時估計為326億元,較去年同月下跌13.6%(市場預期跌11.7%),連跌24個月。去年12月的零售業總銷貨價值的修訂估計較2019年同月下跌13.3%。
在今年1月的零售業總銷貨價值中,網上銷售佔7.3%。該月的零售業網上銷售價值的臨時估計為24億元,較去年同月上升92.1%。
扣除其間價格變動後,今年1月的零售業總銷貨數量的臨時估計較去年同月下跌14.5%。去年12月的零售業總銷貨數量的修訂估計較2019年同月下跌14%。
在闡釋1月份的數字時,必須注意零售業於每年首兩個月的銷貨額一般會受農曆新年時間的影響而較為波動,在該節日前本地消費開支通常處於季節性高位。由於今年農曆新年在2月12日,但上年則在1月25日,因此今年1月份數字與去年1月數字的按年比較可能會受到某程度的影響。
按零售商主要類別的銷貨價值的臨時估計由高至低分析,今年1月與去年1月比較,超級市場貨品的銷貨價值下跌9%。其次為其他未分類消費品(銷貨價值下跌0.3%);食品、酒類飲品及煙草(下跌16.3%);珠寶首飾、鐘錶及名貴禮物(下跌31.7%);百貨公司貨品(下跌17.4%);服裝(下跌20.4%);藥物及化妝品(下跌40.1%);燃料(下跌11.0%);鞋類、有關製品及其他衣物配件(下跌35.1%);書報、文具及禮品(下跌15.0%);中藥(下跌22.7%);以及眼鏡店(下跌25.5%)。但須留意,這些變動或會受上述提到有關農曆新年時間不同所影響。
另一方面,今年1月與去年同月比較,電器及其他未分類耐用消費品的銷貨價值上升28.2%。其次為汽車及汽車零件(銷貨價值上升4.2%);以及傢具及固定裝置(上升25.0%)。
政府發言人表示,在本地第四波疫情下,今年1月零售銷售繼續錄得顯著的按年跌幅。然而,由於今年和去年農曆新年的時間有差異(今年在2月中,去年則在1月底),相信對1月份的數字造成扭曲。因此,待取得2月份的零售數據後,再將兩個月的數據合併分析,將能更有效評估最新的零售銷售表現。
展望未來,發言人指出鑑於本地疫情繼續帶來威脅及訪港旅遊業維持冰封,零售業的經營環境在短期內仍然困難。因此,控制好疫情是至為重要。如果2019冠狀病毒病疫苗接種計劃取得預期效果,應有助奠下穩固基礎,讓零售業恢復以至經濟在今年較後時間有較全面的復蘇。
