金管局周文正:蚂蚁集团仍在香港金融领域扮演重要角色
金管局首席金融科技总监周文正接受《彭博通讯社》访问时指,虽然内地监管机构加强对蚂蚁集团(06688.HK)的审查,但该公司仍会继续在香港的金融领域扮演重要角色,认为没有理由质疑其存在。而事实上,蚂蚁集团拥有香港经营虚拟银行及储值支付工具的许可。
蚂蚁集团原订在本周四(5日)於香港及上海上市,但在本周二(3日)突然被中国监管机构煞停。周文正指,此事不会抑制投资者对香港金融科技兴趣,认为基调非常乐观,投资者视亚洲尤其是香港,为有大量金融科技发展的主要地方之一。
他续指,香港今年批出数家虚拟银行,其中一家由蚂蚁集团营运。目前为止,这些虚拟银行的发展不错,拥有非常好的商业模式,能利用替代数据来帮助将更多资金流入中小企。至於会否发放更多牌照,则需要更多时间审视现有的虚拟银行。
