西南航空寻求工会减薪以避免今年之前裁员
西南航空(Southwest Airlines)(LUV.US)正在要求工会同意削减工资,希望能避免在明年之前进行强制休假及裁员。
目前非工会员工正减薪两成直到2022年1月1日,而工会员工约占总6.1万名员工中的83%。工会表示,如果国会未能通过第二次援助方案,将同意与资方开会讨论节省成本等措施。
竞争对手美国航空(AAL.US)及联合航空(UAL.US)上周开始让3.2万名员工强制放无薪假,之前并未要求任何工人放无薪假的西南航空表示,由於航空需求仍然下跌70%,有可能不得不效仿其他航空公司的做法,警告在有效疫苗推出之前,公司每个季度的损失可能高达数十亿美元。
