里士满联储总裁:需更长期财政支援让美国经济渡过疫情
《彭博通讯社》报道,美国里士满联储总裁Thomas Barkin在一场网络研究会上表示,美国经济在近周新冠疫情反弹下失去动力,需要更多持续性财政支援以抵御经济冲击。他形容新冠疫情升温或使经济前路路陷演变成大洞,并需要更长期的支援以渡过难关。若国会过早过急地停止支援,後果不难想像。
Barkin亦指出,经济复苏前路仍视乎疫情,不幸地暖和天气不能抑制疫情。他预期美国经济前景在未来数周将更清晰,视乎疫情及财政支援规模。他亦表示,低收入人士快速地使用所获的失业救济,白领人士则增加储蓄,有关支援部分地抵销疫情对经济的影响,但地方政府或会在没有进一步财政支援下削减开支。
