報道指匯控(00005.HK)或出售歐美業務 曾討論港元脫鉤可能性
匯控(00005.HK)將於下週一(8月3日)公布中期業績,《彭博》引述消息人士指,主席杜嘉祺正對歐美業務進行詳細審視,有機會出售當地業務而非繼續挽救。報道指匯控盈利能力不足,令管理層急於重新審視業務安排,其中集團集中火力推動盈利的美國市場受累於分行網絡成本過高,歐洲業務於去年雖佔集團近半資產,惟仍錄營運虧損。報道指,雖然集團早前公布全球裁員3.5萬人的重組計劃,惟相信力度仍不足。
集團近期在中美政治角力下成為磨心,報道指管理層亦審視港元與美元脫鉤的可能性。早前集團於其註冊地英國受政治壓力取消去年第四季度派息及宣布今年不會派息,報道亦提及管理層有討論與英倫銀行之間的關係。
匯控拒就業務重組回應報道。
