报道指汇控(00005.HK)或出售欧美业务 曾讨论港元脱钩可能性
汇控(00005.HK)将於下周一(8月3日)公布中期业绩,《彭博》引述消息人士指,主席杜嘉祺正对欧美业务进行详细审视,有机会出售当地业务而非继续挽救。报道指汇控盈利能力不足,令管理层急於重新审视业务安排,其中集团集中火力推动盈利的美国市场受累於分行网络成本过高,欧洲业务於去年虽占集团近半资产,惟仍录营运亏损。报道指,虽然集团早前公布全球裁员3.5万人的重组计划,惟相信力度仍不足。
集团近期在中美政治角力下成为磨心,报道指管理层亦审视港元与美元脱钩的可能性。早前集团於其注册地英国受政治压力取消去年第四季度派息及宣布今年不会派息,报道亦提及管理层有讨论与英伦银行之间的关系。
汇控拒就业务重组回应报道。
