萬洲(00288.HK)旗下美國史密斯菲爾德陸續重開廠房
萬洲(00288.HK)旗下美國肉類生產商史密斯菲爾德(Smithfield Foods)陸續重開廠房,其中在上月因新型肺炎疫情而關閉的南達科他州大型屠宰場,在本周一開始恢復有限度營運。
美國食品和商業工人聯合會發言人指,史密斯菲爾德在宣布南達科他州蘇瀑市(Sioux Falls)的工廠將無限期關閉後約三周,重開該廠的絞肉調味及夜間清潔部門。發言人提到,該廠3,700名工人中約有250人恢復工作,公司亦計劃逐步重啟更多業務,但並未恢復屠宰豬隻。
