星光文化(01159.HK)與多元化全球媒體公司訂立諒解備忘錄
格隆匯4月15日丨星光文化(01159.HK)發佈公告，2020年3月28日，公司全資附屬公司Starlight Media, Inc.與Lion Forge Animation, LLC訂立諒解備忘錄，即時生效，內容有關以下方面的合營合作：(i)按逐個項目基準創作及發展動畫影音項目以供全球所有媒體開發；及 (ii)按逐個項目(各自為“Lion Forge項目”)基準發行及開發Lion Forge Animation的現有知識產權以於大中華地區開發。
根據披露，Lion Forge Animation為媒體公司，其創造挑戰想像及反映現代觀眾多樣性的動畫內容。具有文化意義及廣受好評的短篇電影《發之戀》(Hair Love)為該工作室的第一部作品，並於2020年獲頒奧斯卡“最佳動畫短片”。Lion Forge Animation於2019年成立，為Polarity的附屬公司，Polarity為David Steward II於2018年成立的多元化全球媒體公司。
合作期間，有關訂約方須按訂約方互相協定的發展預算盡力合資及共同發展合資項目。於開始任何合資項目的發展前，訂約方須互相書面批准各個有關合資項目的發展預算，而各訂約方須根據互相批准的現金流量時間表就有關合資項目產生的所有發展成本及開支的50%提供資金。
訂約方預先批准以下項目為初始合資項目： (a) 《西遊記》：《西遊記》擬定將製作為由中國四大文學名著之一的同名中國歷史小説重新想像的特色長篇動畫電影。 (b) 受COVID-19大流行及其對人類及其他物種的影響所啟發的原創動畫短篇電影。
據公司管理層所述，集團相信與Lion Forge Animation合作符合公司的發展策略。集團認為與Lion Forge Animation合作很大程度上補足公司於國際層面的業務發展，而訂立諒解備忘錄符合公司及其股東整體利益，並將為合作事項所有訂約方創造雙贏局面。
