渣打:美國減息為中國提供減息機會 港銀可減可不減
渣打亞太區金融市場部主管陳銘僑表示,美國是次減息既非於定期議息會議上決定,減息幅度亦較大,金融市場亦未有如過往般反應正面。他指今年聯儲局本不欲在選舉年調整利率,惟政府一直給予較大壓力,同時遇上新型肺炎契機,聯儲局大刀闊斧減息,以追上市場預期。他指,市場料聯儲局4月將再減息一次,幅度為25點子。陳銘僑又指,是次美國減息帶動其他貨幣匯價上升,包括人民幣,為中國減息提供原因,料3月將減MLF操作利率10點子。惟他指人民銀行不想市場認為人行被美國「牽著走」,加上現時中國疫情開始受控,料3月放寬措施將較輕微。至於本港,陳銘僑指現時港息高於美息約40點子,港匯穩定,本港最優惠利率可減可不減,惟若美國再度減息,相信港銀有機會跟隨。
