谷歌及YouTube就收集小童资料投放广告支付1.7亿美元和解
美国联邦贸易委员会表示,Alphabet旗下谷歌(Google)及视像服务YouTube,就收集小童个人资料,触犯美国联法例,支付1.7亿美元和解。YouTube被指在未经家长同意下,利用cookies(浏览器上储存资讯的小型档案)追踪小童频道的观看者,并使用有关料向该等观看者投放广告。
是次和解金额为1988年美国立例禁止收集13岁以下小童资料以来最多,该例於2013年修订,加入追踪使用者网综的cookies。
YouTube发表声明表示,将在4个月内开始视所有儿童内容的观看者为小童,意味公司将限制使用有关资料以支援提供服务所需。
