    Dormant Account

1.What is a Dormant Account (Inactive Account)?

A dormant account refers to a securities account that has had no client-initiated activity for two consecutive calendar years and is consequently designated as being in a “dormant status”. The primary purpose is to enhance account security and to comply with the regulatory requirements of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

    2.Functional Restrictions of Dormant Accounts

Trading rights frozen: All trading activities are prohibited, including but not limited to buying/selling of stocks, subscription of new shares, subscription/redemption of funds, margin trading, and securities borrowing/lending.
Restrictions on fund and asset operations: No fund deposits/withdrawals or stock deposits/withdrawals are permitted.

    3.Account Activation Method

Please activate the account via the App.

    4.Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can a dormant account still receive dividends and handle corporate actions?
A: Yes. Dividends will be automatically credited to the account, and corporate actions will be processed as usual. However, the funds and assets cannot be withdrawn or utilized until the account is successfully reactivated.

Q: How soon after activation can trading resume?
A: If no update to identity information is required, trading privileges will be restored immediately upon successful activation.
