What is a Margin Account?

A Margin Account is a type of account offered by uSMART Securities. Compared with a Cash Account, customers can not only use their own funds for trading, but also pledge their securities to the broker to borrow funds to purchase additional securities, which is known as margin financing.

Margin financing is essentially a form of leveraged trading. While it can amplify potential gains, it can also magnify losses. Compared with cash trading, margin financing requires customers to have a higher risk tolerance. After opening a Margin Account, please monitor your account’s risk level closely at all times.
