涉一馬醜聞案高盛馬來西亞前高層被判囚10年
涉及馬來西亞基金一個馬來西亞發展公司(1MDB)醜聞的高盛(GS.US)馬來西亞投行前主管黃宗華(Roger Ng),早前被裁定協助盜取該基金十億美元計資金的罪名成立,昨日(9日)於紐約布魯克林聯邦法院被判囚10年。
該法院陪審團去年4月裁定黃宗華協助前上司Tim Leissner從基金盜取款項、洗黑錢及行賄政府官員贏取業務的罪名成立。
案情指高盛2012年及2013年協助該基金髮行65億美元債券,美國檢察官指當中45億美元被官員、銀行家及夥伴挪用,爲華爾街史上其中一宗最大醜聞。有關資金被用作購買高端住宅、珠寶及藝術品,並用作爲荷裏活電影《華爾街狼人》拍攝提供融資。黃宗華否認收取3,500萬美元回傭,並指有關款項爲妻子投資所得。
美國地方法官Margo Brodie在判詞中指,黃宗華及其他被告有效地盜取爲馬來西亞民衆發展基建及經濟的款項,必須對此等罪行及純粹的貪婪作阻嚇性懲罰。被告計劃就刑期提出上訴。
