泰國財長:目標美國將關稅降至20%以下
泰國財長Pichai Chunhavajira表示,泰國希望在新一輪與美國的貿易談判中取得非常實質的進展,將泰國出口商品關稅從36%降至與其他鄰近地區國家一致的水平,即稅率不會超過20%。
他稱,泰國的最新提案能夠滿足美國的所有要求,即包括取消更多美國商品的關稅及非關稅壁壘,兩國官員昨日(17日)在電話會議上討論關稅、轉運、美國商品進口以及泰國在美國的投資等問題。
泰國在經過兩輪部長級會談後,已提出大幅增加購買美國農產品、液化天然氣及波音(BA.US)飛機,以減少去年兩國總值460億美元的貿易順差。據泰國貿易組織透露,泰國政府最新的提案將美國享有零關稅的產品清單擴大到90%,高於先前的60%以上,有助於三年內將貿易順差削減70%,並在五年內達到貿易平衡。
