阿布扎比皇室成員做空美國股票
據知情人士透露，阿布扎比一位頂級王室成員控制的一家投資公司建立了一個價值數十億美元的美國股票空頭頭寸，押注對經濟衰退日益加劇的擔憂將給市場帶來壓力。
知情人士表示，今年年初，皇家集團對美國股票的看法變得更加悲觀，並將更多投資組合轉向短期美國國債。該公司由阿拉伯聯合酋長國國家安全顧問Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan擔任主席，他們表示，該公司也在加大對大宗商品和加密貨幣的投資。
該集團通過龐大的子公司網絡幫助管理世界上最大的家族財富之一，計劃向美國和歐洲股票以及其他因擔心全球經濟放緩而遭受重創的資產投入多達100億美元。
知情人士表示，該公司去年底在美國市場的部分投資獲利了結，並一直在修改其在美股票的買入清單。他們表示，一旦估值改善，且美聯儲發出準備降息的信號，該集團將尋求擴大在美國的敞口。
目前尚不清楚皇家集團正在做空哪些股票或行業。
有影響力的皇室成員
直到最近，Sheikh Tahnoon的公司一直優先考慮在發展中國家進行投資。隨着全球許多市場的資金枯竭，皇家集團正在成爲全球金融領域一個有影響力的參與者，並已成爲這個石油資源豐富的海灣國家多元化戰略的關鍵工具。
該集團希望利用四家美國銀行倒閉以及全球經濟放緩預期加劇後的市場情緒波動。自4月初以來，股市一直盤整，因企業財報好於擔憂，抵消了對經濟可能衰退和地區銀行健康狀況的擔憂。不過，標準普爾500指數今年已經上漲了約7%。
由於潛在的信貸緊縮和不斷上漲的油價有可能進一步削弱經濟增長，同時推高通脹，Bloomberg Economics預計，美國將在7月份陷入衰退——比此前的預期提前兩個月。
阿布扎比一直在將更多資產整合到該公司旗下，從而鞏固了Sheikh Tahnoon在其兄長、阿聯酋總統謝赫•穆罕默德•本•扎耶德(Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed)下作爲王室頭號商人的地位。
今年早些時候，他成爲資產規模爲7900億美元的阿布扎比投資局(Abu Dhabi Investment Authority)主席，鞏固了他在阿聯酋國家安全顧問和該國最大銀行第一阿布扎比銀行(First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC)董事長等職位之外的權力。
