巴菲特:銀行倒閉潮未結束 強調無存戶將損虧
「股神」巴菲特表示,銀行倒閉潮仍未結束,但強調即使銀行破產,銀行存戶不會受影響,不必擔心。
他指出,銀行家為推高目前收益,故在利差及盈利以外會做得更多,故銀行大多會出現資產和負債不匹配、會計核算有問題等情況,令部分持股股東面臨風險,但這些蠢事在近期將會被揭發,強調FDIC 的成本由銀行承擔,銀行從無花費美國聯邦政府一分錢,故沒有人會在美國銀行存款而蒙受損失,呼籲保持信心。
巴菲特一直為銀行業的救星,於2008年雷曼兄弟倒閉後,巴菲特以50億美元現金注資高盛;2011 年巴菲特則向財困的美國銀行注資50億美元。
