Jia Ronge, director of the tax Administration Department of the Ministry of Finance: phased reduction of passenger car purchase tax is expected to enjoy preferential treatment for more than 8.7 million passenger vehicles.

Recently, the Ministry of Finance issued a circular specifying that the tax on the purchase of some passenger cars will be reduced periodically from June 1. In response to a reporter's question at a special news conference on financial support to stabilize the overall economic market on June 2, Jia Ronge, director of the tax Department of the Ministry of Finance, said that compared with the vehicle purchase tax reduction policy in 2009 and 2015, the implementation scope of this policy is broader and the benefits are wider. "in terms of the scope of implementation, the first two policies are aimed at passenger cars with engines of 1.6 liters or less, and this time they are specifically 2.0 liters and below, so that more than 8.7 million passenger vehicles will be able to enjoy preferential policies. In terms of benefits, the preferential object of this policy is clearly for passenger cars with a price of no more than 300000 yuan excluding tax, focusing on encouraging public consumption. " Jia Rong'e said.
