美國飛機製造商波音(BA.US)計劃把總部由芝加哥遷往毗鄰首都華盛頓的維珍尼亞州阿靈頓,以修補公司與客戶、聯邦監管機構及政界的關係。公司亦計劃在阿靈頓發展研發及科技樞紐,阿靈頓亦為美國國防部所在地。
波音行政總裁Dave Calhoun指,阿靈頓作為公司的全球總部具戰略合理性,基於該處接近公司客戶及持份者,且可取得世界級工程及技術專才。
波音正致力與美聯邦航空管理局及政界修補737 MAX事故所影響的關係。公司上周宣布就空軍一號及T-7紅鷹教練機撥備逾10億美元。
