The number of passengers carried by China Southern Airlines (01055.HK) fell by 63.6% in March, and cargo volume decreased by 20.3%.
China Southern Airlines (01055.HK) released its main operating figures for March, carrying 4.0758 million passengers, down 63.6 per cent year-on-year and 44.5 per cent month-on-month. Of these, domestic routes carried 4.0209 million passengers, down 63.9% year-on-year and 44.9% monthly, while international routes carried 48500 passengers, down 21.2% year-on-year and up 22.2% month-on-month. In the first three months of this year, the cumulative number of passengers was 17.946 million, a year-on-year decline of 18.9 per cent. During the period, the input of passenger transport capacity decreased by 56%.
In March, the volume of goods and mail was 51600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 20.3%, a monthly increase of 11.9%, and a cargo and mail carrying rate of 60.86%, a monthly increase of 11.02%. In the first three months of this year, the cumulative volume of goods and mail was 172100 tons, down 0.3%. Freight capacity fell by 27.6%.
