谷歌发公开信批评澳洲立法强制向媒体付费
谷歌批评澳洲拟议的反垄断法要求搜寻平台必须就新闻内容向新闻媒体支付费用,认为这会影响公司的免费搜寻引擎服务,忧虑有需要向第三方共享用户个人数据。
谷歌指,拟议中法例还协助大型媒体公司人为地提高其搜寻排名,吸引更多用户使用其平台,变相打压小型出版商及YouTube等媒体网站。
谷歌澳洲董事总经理Mel Silva在公开信中提到,根据这项法例,不能再保证谷歌搜寻引擎及YouTube能向用户提供最为相关及对用户有帮助的内容,不仅会影响谷歌及YouTube与新闻媒体的合作方式,更会影响所有的澳洲用户。
不过澳洲竞争与消费者委员会(ACCC)指控谷歌发布错误信息,强调法例不会要求谷歌向澳洲用户收取服务费用或共享任何人的个人数据。
