金管局将与泰国央行续进行数码货币研究
金管局公布,与泰国央行完成央行数码货币的联合研究,两间央行已联同两地共10间参与银行成功开发以「分布式分类帐技术」为基础的概念验证原型,两地央行将会在相关范畴展开进一步联合研究工作,包括探讨业务按例,及与其他平台的连接,当中将会涉及银行与其他相关机构参与跨境资金转拨的试行。
金管局助理总裁(金融基建)鲍克运表示,两地央行将会选取实际交易情况作为试验,暂时未有具体时间表,估计最快今年底前完成。本港参与试行的银行为汇丰银行及众安(06060.HK)旗下的虚拟银行ZA Bank。
鲍克运并指,相关数码货币发行并不牵涉货币基础增加。另外在概念中的做法下,香港及泰国两地之间的交易成本亦会减少,因为交易复杂程度将会降低,中间牵涉的代理行数目亦会减少。
