政府刊憲增設小蠔灣站方案 中長期提供2萬公私營住宅單位
政府按《鐵路條例》(第519章)的規定,在憲報刊登在小蠔灣增設鐵路車站的相關鐵路方案。
行政長官在2020年《施政報告》宣布,發展香港鐵路有限公司(港鐵公司)小蠔灣車廠用地,預期中長期可提供公、私營房屋合共約2萬個單位。為配合有關發展及照顧居民的交通需要,港鐵公司建議在小蠔灣增設東涌線的鐵路車站。
政府和港鐵公司早前已就鐵路方案在離島區議會收集意見和建議。擬建的鐵路車站建造工程會在鐵路方案獲得批准後盡快展開,以配合小蠔灣車廠用地發展項目首批人口約於2030年遷入的時間表。
